I've just watched tonight's episode and, as always it was excellent. Of particular interest was a visit to a practice surfing venue in Snowdonia where a young lady called Tina was trying out a specially converted surfboard for the disabled. In interview she revealed that she has FA and, in addition to the surfing experiment, she has done parachute jumps and abseiling. The piece was a couple of years old but was completely inspiring.

What an impressive young lady! You should be able to see it on catch-up and is well worth looking up.

Hi,

Our son has DRPLA and is mostly in a wheelchair.

We took him surfing in Wales (with Special Kids UK) and he had an instructor take him out on a board with a pod screwed into the top.

We also take him skiing and have just bought a van raam opair wheelchair bike so that we can go cycling.

He goes to an amazing special needs school and they take the kids to outdoor adapted centres where he does abseiling and all sorts of things!

Just being outdoors gives him huge amounts of pleasure but that coupled with speed and excitement is fantastic!

Live life to the full!!!
