Just after a bit of advice if possible. I absolutely understand how busy the nhs hospital etc are hence why I’m asking a question on here(I’ve also an operation cancelled after waiting 8 years for it, nothing do do with ataxia or neurological)
I saw my neurologist at the beginning of nov, he said he wanted to see me in between 4-6 months, it’s normally every 6 months but I’ve not been very well lately. I do normally have to ring the hospital up a month before I’m due to see him, to inquire about an appointment & they normally give me one then. Long gone are the days where it was an appointment automatically came through the post.
As I said Its now nearly 5 months after seeing him, but am unsure wether to ring the hospital to see about an appointment or not, as I said long gone are the days of an appointment just turning up, if I don’t ring I don’t get an appointment, but I don’t know if they’ll be doing clinical appointments or not, but am terrified of being forgotten as the staff once left me 18 months before they gave me an appointment & when would the right time be to ring up? I don’t want to be a pest to them & in the past 1 or 2 have been extremely rude to me, which has made me extremely reluctant to ring them now, I normally have to build myself up a couple if days then force myself to ring in the end.
I hate to make a fuss but he’s the only one who seems to understand the pain & give me the right medication.

Hi legs alive. Why don’t you ask your husband to ring them and make enquiries on your behalf as to how you should proceed with your next appointment. I’m sure the neurology department wouldn’t be put out, at least you’ve made an effort to contact them
Hi - I have an appointment in May at the Neuro Hospital in Queen Sq. London. I have been on their website and understand they will be informing people nearer their appointment date. I phoned them about a month ago and was told then that they were still seeing people. I think also it may become a visual appointment. All the best, stay safe, and keep washing your hands.. x
I would definitely give them a call. My appointment was last week so few days before I rang them. As no one answered I ve left the voice mail. Two days later my consultant called me back. They cancelled all non urgent appointments but we had a quite long chat.
Many thanks to you for your replies. I’ll give them a ring & see what happens. Once again thanks taking the time to reply. Take care & stay safe all xxx
My annual review was last month had to be satisfied with a telephone conversation.
