Hi. My mum was diagnosed with a less common form of ataxia about 5 years ago. She’s degenerated very quickly and a new consultant is suggesting a diagnosis of multiple system atrophy now. Does anyone have any experience with this?

never heard of it...Keep your chin up, however scary it sounds...I have sca2...ru sure it is not MS, or some other misdiagnosis? take 2nd opinion, 3rd if needs be.

It’s now a confirmed diagnosis and the outcome looks pretty bleak. Average time with MSA is about 6 years and she’s already hit that milestone 😢.
