Having headache too

I have been taking Betahistine for five days but I’m getting up with headache all over my head and it feels like Cotton wool Carnot think straight I think it must be these tablets so don’t no wether to leave them off

Please don’t just stop taking them without first seeing/speaking to your gp, I’d also advise getting your eyes tested asap just to rule anything out.

Hi Jenny one thing I do know is that quite often you will get side effects from medication but if you persevere for a few weeks often the side effect will vanish. If it is really bad then go see your gp but you have obviously been put on them for a symptom of ataxia so which is worse...give it a couple of weeks before you quit on it. I'm on it for ear problems and I don't have any side effects now. Yours anihol - ex nurse

Check with your gp or a pharmacist to see if a headache is a side effect of the medication. If so, as Anisol already said, it can take a couple of weeks for a side effect to vanish! Usually (at least all the meds I've ever been perscribed) perscription meds come with a paper insert and if you have one, side-effects are listed on there in the order of severity (common to severe, usually states to contact your gp if you have a severe side effect). Also, getting your eyes checked, as Legs-Alive said is a good idea! My best to you..., ;o)
