Hi, does anyone have any experience or info on using Ayurvedic Treatments to treat Ataxia? I found this on some evidence of helping with balance problems: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/194.... (A friend goes to India for treatment for another chronic condition and swears by it).
Thanks, Ben

Dear Ben, Although I personally have never tried it for my ataxia, I've read positive things about it! I just read the article from your link and I'd say, go for it!!! My best to you, and if you do indeed try it, please post your results!..., ;o)

I hear that homeopathy can have a beneficial effect, my husband has just been diagnosed and he is going to give it a go, unsure about Ayurvedic approach but it's worth a go. Good luck.
Just to feedback that I went for a month's treatment in India and though I'm still open to possible positive longer-term effects, my experience was that if anything I came back more uncertain on my feet than I was before. This may have been the result of losing a bit of weight and the no-exercise regime that they request but not quite the outcome I was hoping for.
Through other means I've managed to improve my body posture over the last year so I'm aware this may also be affecting my balance as my body adjusts to a new way I'm carrying myself. Somehow still glad I gave it a go and I'm open to finding out more about and exploring Ayurveda in the future.
