I too have Cerebellar Ataxia. I am 'lucky' as I have had for over twenty years and it has progressed very slowly. I am a member of Ataxia UK and have found this very useful to answer any questions that you may have.

thanks for reply- I am surprised how quickly I have become so limited in what I can do. had another fall at the weekend but I wear a pendant so press this for helpand my sons or friend will usually come but once I fell in the garden last summer and everyone was away so the police came and picked me up- it makes you very nervous of falling. I go to chair based exercises every week which help my balance . I went on a coach trip last week with a son who is usually in Dubai- it was so nice to get out but it takes a day or two to recover. it is hard to cope sometimes as people just see the disability not the person I am which is frustrating . good to hear from you all the best Sylviaxx

I know what you mean about your body needing a few days to recover. My daughter takes me out a few days per week but I am a very independent person and find this arrangement difficult to take.
