I have been managing with my Ataxia since been diagnosed 3 years ago but am really struggling at the moment. I have been signed off work to rest, my gp ordered a blood test which has come back with something wrong with my liver :( is there any connection? From a very tired Wendy Girl xx

Hi Wendygirl

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having such a tough time at the moment.

To my knowledge there is no direct link between cerebellar ataxia and abnormal liver function tests. The best person to discuss the possible causes with is your GP.

I hope that you feel better very soon.

Best Wishes

Harriet

Your liver. Very interesting. I had some liver damage, and, I've got ataxia. It would be too easy to suggest there is a link?

Dear Wendygirl, I've not heard of a connection between cerebellar ataxia and liver problems. I agree with Harriet, the best person to discuss this with would be your doctor (GP and/or neurologist). Personally, I was diagnosed with ataxia eleven years ago, and, as far as I know, no liver problems. I hope all works out well for you! ;o)
