Check out "Mindwalkers". Read about it in Friday's newspaper. Unclear if its for sale yet. Article says that sci-fi like inventions involving the brain and a mini computer are rapidly developing.

read in the weekend edition of Haaretz, a top Israeli newspaper. But it is in Hebrew.I can translate if need be.

I remember something like this being in the media a while back and nothing was ever heard of it again - wonder if it was the same thing?

Which newspaper was the report/story in?

its a fantastic piece of technology, but i feel very concious with just the tri -walker, so I feel that would draw attention to myself, i'm very self concious at the moment, I have given all social activities at the moment and I'm very emotional of what I have lost and what I have become and my family although supportive are finding it also hard to comprehend the servarity of the disease. how progressive it has become. I'mnot handling it at all well

I wrote a whole long reply and it vanished so I will be brief. I know exactly how you feel. I have a "mild" case of auto immune induced cerebellar ataxia and I have even avoided a cane. But who knows how long that will last. I take this treatment called IVIg. Its given by IV. Doesn't seem to be a big help but my dr, said to take it for 3 more months. Apparently stress really makes ataxia worse, so stay calm. I also feel very self conscious and am contemplatinh how I will manage at my cousin's daughter's wedding this week. Tonight my husband and I went to the ballet. I almost killed three people + myself until I reached my seat! My family is quite un supportive because I look the same. They dont see how hard I am working not to fall and to speak clearly. I agree, the Mindwalker is a great piece of technology but at the moment too cumbersome. Ataxia has been a game-changer. Pray for a cure and exercise alot.

Yes, I agree although it still seems cumbersome and complicated at the moment.

will this work for us? I have Spino Cerebelleux Ataxia of unknown genetic type. Do we not have a problem with the neurons in our brain?? So would we have a problem making this work??

I have no idea. I dont think so but ask your neuro . Frankly I am not sure where one gets it or if on the market for sale. N

I think I`ll stick with my wheelchair, I`ll feel safer :-)
