Has anyone had an experience with not being able to get rid of a horrific cough after having the Flu which kicks Asthma attacks. The doctor tells me this cough last up to six months. I am already on Fostair, Salbutamol, Montaclutast, Piriton nasal spray, Omeprazole and Gaviscon. I am feeling rather low today because nothing has a helping.

Unfortunately coughs and breathing symptoms can and often do last a long time after all sorts of viruses (hence why people being alarmed that similar covid symptoms can last a few weeks makes me 🙄 because all viruses can do that!).
Sometimes it might be exacerbating asthma but often it's just part of the post-viral phase, whether someone also has asthma or not. If asthma meds aren't helping the cough it suggests it's more likely to be linked to the virus not your asthma. I hope it doesn't last 6 months for you - I guess trying anything that would be recommended for general coughs is the way forward, particularly keeping well hydrated. But I suspect it's just got to run its course.
Perhaps u could try foxes mints in the blue wrapper, or similar mints not too strong that’s what I do. Bernardine
Yes. Had a choking cough for nearly 2 years. GP was no help. I was exhausted and had horrible feelings of impending doom. In the end I made a private appointment with a consultant who has a specialist interest in Unexplained Cough. Best £250 I ever spent. He sorted out my meds and put me on his NHS list. I can never thank him enough. Worth doing IMO.
