started fostair just under 2 years ago . Wasn’t happy with it from the start . Asthma seemed worse . Couldn’t sleep . I suffer from severe eczema . This has been appalling since going on fostair . It’s so bad that I’ve reached the point where I need prednisone for my eczema . Obviously my asthma is much improved - this led me to look at the steroid content of fostair and read the patient info . In it I found a passage that says extreme skin flare ups are a possible side effect . Has anyone else has experience of this ? I’m awaiting a consult with my asthma nurse to change my inhaler back to clenil and also
Taking it up with my consultant dermatologist next week . I’m convinced it’s linked .

Hi...I have taken long term prednisone for my asthma and the side effects from long term use are not something you want to deal with if you can help it. Prednisone short term (short course) is wonderful for asthma and bronchitis etc. or anything that stubbornly refuses to respond to antibiotics. I have not had to take Prednisone for over a year since being on a biologic specific to my kind of asthma.(Nucala) There are new biologics now that treat many things and one that I have read is excellent for eczema is "Dupixent"...you should ask your Dr. about that as that is (to me) a far better treatment for eczema than a strong steroid like Prednisone.
Hi got it tried it . No luck . Currently have 14 topical applications on repeat prescription including 2 that are only consultantPrescription. The prednisone is a stop gap
Till I see consultant next week when I’m going on methotrexate - which autoimmunemedication usually used
