All steroid inhalers take roughly 8 weeks, sometimes more, sometimes less to become effective. It's highly usual to feel worse or no better in that time and to need more reliever inhaler.

Seretide contains both a steroid and a long acting bronchodilator (LAB). Therefore, you would feel some relief after 30 minutes as the LAB works quickly and lasts up to 12 hours. I take it you're taking it twice a day to achieve 24 hour results.

The steroid takes at least 8 weeks before you feel the benefits- the steroid being a preventer medication. So at first you get some relief but after 8 to 12 weeks you should feel much better.

If you noticed absolutely no change in your symptoms then talk to your asthma nurse or GP. You could have a chat with Asthma UK first in order to talk through your case so that you're confident what you're going to say to your asthma nurse or GP.
