It must be very hard not to feel scared but you are not alone. I am wake now due to insomnia of day 5 of Prednisolone course. You had a naaty shock but you are going sorted! Lots of medication true and alot to deal with.

I use a strong combination inhaler (Fostair nexthaler 200/6) prescription antihistamine and monkelaust.

Looking at your meds that is alot of inhaler but not unusual.

Recommended asthma UK website and asthma UK helpline Google number. For the gold standard of info and care.

You will be okay Asthma is infinitely treatable and your meds may get twicked for ultimate control. You will be okay it just time for your mind and emotion to adjust.

I will pray that your fear is replaced with a peace when your asthma is coming under control. You are not alone.

It is horrible when the level of asthma symptoms changes and need additional medication. Keeping it manageable is important. The Asthma UK website has good information about taking a "step up and step down" approach and how to recognise when you need additional help or can ease up on it.

When you are back home make an appointment to see your GP to have am asthma review and ask for an Action Plan. This helps you to feel more in control of your health. Hope it settles down soon and you feel better.

Hi. I was diagnosed with asthma at 50, following pneumonia on holiday abroad. It was so frightening, Several years later again on holiday it happened again, I was prescribed Montelukast 8 years ago. The change has been miraculous. My asthma is stable and I have had no side effects. Talk to your Asthma Nurse. Good Luck,

Thank you for the motivation. I return home at the end of April, and I have not been resting well [which was the point of this long delayed Holiday].

Anyway, really appreciated.
