Back to the doctors tomorrow?

Hello!

I have a seasonal chest infection (it's like it's a Christmas tradition in its own right!) but so bad last night that I couldn't sleep - it felt like I was suffocating.

Headed off to out-of-hours doctor this afternoon and she refused to prescribe me anything. My own GP tends to prescribe pred and antibiotics for a chest infection but the out-of-hours doctor just said "steroids are really bad for your bones" and encouraged me to use even more ventolin.

Facing another night of no sleep (thank God for Netflix and Amazon Prime, eh?!) but should I go to my own dr's tomorrow?

Thank you :)

I would go back.x

I have been to the gp today they wouldn't give me any antibiotics, but gave me oral steroids and said people need to stop antibiotics other wise one day they will not work for people.

Feeling horrible with a high temperature and now I have a headache with so much coughing and earache. I'm going back tomorrow and seeing another gp.

Get well soon there are lots of horrible things going round at the moment ,my children's school have scarlet fever at the moment we don't want that in the house.xx

Thank you - I think I will go to my GP tomorrow. I'm now taking so much ventolin that I'm shaking like mad..!

I do understand the thing about antibiotics - but surely when you're obviously unwell is just the time to take them?!

I hope you're feeling better soon and manage to avoid the scarlet fever!

xx

I’m having the same problem! Away from uni where I’m registered, had two attacks within one week, went to gp after first attack and all he did was give me another blue inhaler and told me if I have another attack to go to a&e. So I’m stuck now. I would suggest going to your gp who know you best

I think 2 puffs 4×daily is max but ya go see ur doc but when I'm like that raw honey speeds up recovery for me - a table spoon twice daily

Thanks all :) I went to see my GP yesterday - suffice to say he was not best chuffed with the out-of-hours doctor!!

Am now on pred and antibiotics. Still waiting for them to properly kick in but I feel more relaxed knowing I've been taken seriously!

xx
