Been out of hospital for a week now after pneumonia and finding out I have a heart problem now. Ejection Fraction. Never heard of it before. Anyway, got home, started new meds for heart and now chest infection back. Feeling rather sorry for myself it's been ongoing about 9 weeks. I do like this forum, anyone had pneumonia who also has a low ejection fraction would love to hear from you with some positive news. Thanks

Never heard of it either, sure you heard that right? Hope you feel better very soon. 🙂

I assume Cosychair is talking about low ejection fraction. From Penn Medicine website:

Your ejection fraction is the amount of blood that your heart pumps each time it beats. Ejection fraction is measured as a percentage of the total amount of blood in your heart that is pumped out with each heartbeat. A normal ejection fraction is 50 percent or higher.

I hope the treatment kicks in soon Cosychair - it sounds like a lot going on for you and very frustrating!

You may find it helpful to join the British Heart Foundation community as well as this one, Cosychair - there may be more people there with the same experience as you who can help and make you feel more positive about the longer term: healthunlocked.com/bhf

Yeh, I googled it too, loads of info on there. Hope you can get more help from other sites more suited to your newly discovered condition. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes. 🧑‍🎄

That is a long time to be sick and it's so hard when it feels like health stuff keeps snowballing :( Keep us posted on how you're doing and take good care.

Just make sure your heart meds are compatible with any lung condition that you have. I was told that mine were effecting my asthma.

That's a good point, thanks, I must admit, I've gone from hardly any meds to 5 a day for my heart.

Hi, I removed the posts about the garlic capsules as it's not allowed to post about unproven natural remedies on the forum claiming that they are a cure. Daleboy didn't explicitly say asthma but he was apparently claiming they would help with your infection, possibly with your heart issues, for COVID, cancer...would like to see the evidence!

I'm sure you know this but as natural remedies can be harmful for some people and can interact with medications, please do check that the capsules are ok for you to take.

Not what you're looking for?
