Good afternoon,

I got to see the consultant yesterday at the difficult asthma clinic, Sod's law I was feeling quite well, although I should be after nearly 5 weeks of steroids!!! ( Appologies to those of you who have to live with being on steroids, my asthma is seasonal ) Anyway because I am also involved in a research program he was able to see how low my PF dropped & my activity levels went to zero!!! So based on this information he prescribed - Alvesco 160 inhaler - as an add on to my Fostair 200/6 & all the other usual meds for seasonal asthma/hay fever. Is anyone else on this or have experience of it?

Thanks,

Tre x

I use Alvesco and think it is the best of the steroid inhalers. I highly recommend it, and you are lucky to have been prescribed it as it is a 3 rd line drug, meaning you don't get it on the nhs until you have tried other things!!

Good luck with it.

Thanks for your reply, I am feeling much better after a few days on it, I am still having to use my blue inhaler but then again the pollen is at its highest & that's what sets me off but if it keeps me off the steroids - tablet form - it would be great. I'm still exhausted if I do too much, but I've learnt to listen to my body. Hope you're keeping well xxxxxxxxxx
