Hi everyone,
Just after some information really. I have always felt prednisolone helps my asthma, sometimes very slowly, but it has been my light at the end of the tunnel many times over the years.
At my last appt with the consultant, he didn't agree with me that steroids help (partly because from a bronchoscopy, my airways showed no sign of inflammation.) He did say they are just stimulating my system. Has anyone heard of this?
He instead added ventolin in a nebuliser 3 times a day to try. When I collected the nebuliser, the resp specialist nurse did say that if she took steroids they would make her feel better even though she is well. This is new information to me and I was surprised to hear it.
PS The nebuliser is working wonders but I feel it is just treating the symptoms, not the underlying cause and I was surprised he didn't just ask me to use my ventolin inhaler through the spacer.
