Sorry Jennren but I have no experience of this. Perhaps you could ring the BLF helpline where there would surely be someone who could help. x
Have been wondering if a fungal rather than bacterial infection might explain why anti-biotics are not having much effect for me not least as the rervse has been true and I have had to use an anti fungal cream for a yeast infection externally (hydro cortisone & something). In my case we have settled for getting a sputum sample tested which I will be dropping off at the path lab on my way totoday's sleep study assessment so will keep you posted if this turns up anything that might be helpful for you Jenny.
Yes I was tested for this my Consultant ordered it. It turned out to be negative, he also ordered a whole series of allergy tests, all of this seemed to be part of a whole series of tests he carried out when I moved to this area including scans etc, although I had COPD for many years and he had all my notes from the previous hospital. He was very thorough a good consultant, so I would not worry.
Hi Jenny u could try the Bronchieactasis R Us site - it will definitely have an answer to your question, u don't have to join, guests can ask questions and everyone is so kind and helpful on the site, good luck xx Janie
