Lack of transport and inadequate public transport is a problem with Breath easy groups and re-hab in our borough and responsible for the very low take up and groups closing.
I belong to a great health centre who have their own asthma clinic, small surgery facilities etc. but do not have a respitory nurse to see regularly and I hate wasting my gp's time.
I think if more localised groups could be formed then more people would join. Even down to having a carpool for transport .
Unfortunately you are a bit too faraway from me lol
Looking at the directory there are only 5 of us (including me) in the actual area and then about 5 within the surrounding area up to 10 miles.
Further than that members all seem to be Brighton area which has it's own BE group.
I will contact mark tomorrow...I might be allowed to put up a flier in my local health centre but will have to ask as never sure this day and age what is allowed or not lol .
found 4 other members in my area but as aunty mary said that doesn't mean we are the only ones with copd....the others just aren't as clever as us and found blf lol
