Hope you really enjoyed it, off to my group today, we have presentation from the West Midlands Ambulance Service, so that should be interesting, hope he brings lots of men in uniform with him.
As Treasurer of the Gilfach Goch Breathe Easy group i can assure you there is no reason at all to be nervous. You will be welcomed and introduced to other members of the group, and soon make new friends while sharing knowledge and a joke. Breathe Easy also has social functions through the year. Although of course all groups are different. I put a webpage together for our group. To give you an insight into what we get up to take a peek at bitz-and-bobz.co.uk/gilfach...
Welcome to Breathe Easy world! I too was very anxious at my first Breathe Easy! I arrived and hated it! All those very ill people! Not like me! Ahem. But of course they were all just like me! All working hard to manage their breathing condition at various levels. I got over myself ha! And now attend the local group in the Forest of Dean on a regular basis. Some of the speakers there have been very informative, and of course everyone there is very supportive.
I hope that over the coming meetings there at Hardwicke you will find it helpful and supportive.
Nothing to be nervous about. As Vice Chair of my group I am sure you that you would be most welcome. We have a lot of interesting speakers. Have fun and enjoy tea and biscuits.
. I can only agree with all that has been said on this blog about Breathe Easy groups.
Learn to laugh more it strengthens the diaphram and helps with breathing.
However, I'm just nebulising then I'm going to take double antibiotics & prednisone and go to bed to ward off what feels like the start of an infection, so If I miss tomorrow that'll be why. But if so I'll see you another time.
I did my 10 exercises this morning - only 2 minutes each and using soup cans for the weights - and that knocked me out. Then I went to Tesco shopping with my wife and the cold really caught me. I think that's what started the tight chest.
Enjoy the Breatheasy group even if I don't get there. Maybe Rashida will be there too.
I have been a member of 3 Breathe Easy groups and loved them all.I have made so many friends over the last 8 years.Am off to the regional networking meeting on Friday were I can see what other groups are up to!!!
Thank you all for your lovely & supportive messages & for taking the time to write me ....... Sadly I didn't get to the breathe easy group as I fell very ill with a chest infection plus my youngest daughter had to be rushed to emergency after collapsing at college from a severe asthma attack, eventually she too went down with a chest infection too so we both comforted each other... We are both doing well & I'm nearly off the steroids... I hope to get to the next breathe easy group on the 2nd Thursday of Dec.... It will be nice to meet up with friends from the course....
I hope everyone is as well as possible & that you are all safe from the flooding...
