British scientists have found that retinoic acid, a derivative of vitamin A, can reverse damage caused to the lungs by the previously incurable disease.

(Q) Is there any research being carried out on human as there are on mice?

From the bits and pieces I have read on retinoic acid, the results are very mixed.

It is used in the US of A, but is not licensed here. watch this space tho eh?.
