Afternoon and welcome.

I've recently finished my PR, mine was twice a week for 6 weeks but my exercise wasn't mild 10 stations 5 minutes each exercise with 1 minute break, probably felt more difficult for me as I'm severe Emphysema. But it really made me feel brilliant. You will love it.

Hi Trownail. Quite a few on here have done PR over the years and I don't remember anyone saying that it didn't do them good. Go or it.

I just recently finished doing it...that's how I found out about this group. I can honestly say I learned an awful lot about my illness, I use my inhalers much better, I can control my breathing a lot better, and I am trying hard to keep up with the exercises....I have never been one for exercise! each session I had was one hour with mild exercise and then one hour talk and each week had a difference subject.....you will get lots of knowledge and you will feel more positive....I did so i assume everyone else does :)

I did one last year. We had a copd nurse there, a psychologist and an exercise trainer there. We had a chat first then 45 minutes of exercise followed by coffee and biscuits then chat with nurse who talked about various lung issues and answer any questions. It lasted for 2 hours for 6 weeks. I learnt a lot and hope you do to. x

I am sure you will find it invaluable - you will learn all about your disease all the things the doctors don't tell you and how to manage the symptoms as well as you can, how to take the inhalers, what meds to ask for AND you will hopefully meet some lovely people and make friends AND you will get a little fitter which means you will be able to do more. I think it saved my husbands life! Sounds a bit dramatic but that's how I feel. He has been on two and we have just been told that once you have been on a course he can self refer after a year. The very best of luck, enjoy! TAD xx
