Hi

Ring the BLF helpline, on 03000 030 555 ask to speak to a benefits advisor, to discuss. Your options.

In the meantime have a read of

turn2us.org.uk/benefits_sea...

Don,t suffer alone.

Dont have to explane why on benefits ... With out going into to much detail a think you would benefit from giving BLF a call or there might be others who know more than me as i am on esa myself

All the best hope i have been of help :)

DLA isn't only for people who view themselves as disabled, if you have a condition which means you need help with care during the day and/or night (eg cooking a meal, getting dressed, using medication), or with your mobility, you might well qualify. Don't try completing the application form without help tho, it's a minefield. Get a form and take it to your local CAB or disability advice centre (or ask the BLF helpline to go through it with you, but it's probably easier to do it face to face).

Don't ever think of yourself as a burden. There are far more people failing to claim what they're entitled to than there are defrauding the system - the latter is a tiny minority, as the DWP and ONS themselves admit. Go for it, and good luck

Just a quick note re benefits for disability the new benefit replacing DLA called PIP (Personal Independance Payment) comes into force from April although those already getting DLA wont be affected till 2015 unless their award is due to be renewed before then or their circumstances change the downside being the goal posts have been moved yet again and far fewer people will qualify for PIP.
