Telehealth

My nurse has told me that Telehealth is arranged for me and will be fitted into my home next monday.

When I said I did not quite grasp why I should have this a booklet with information brings this page onto the screen dorset.nhs.uk/localservices... this will test my learning again

Hi Bluebadger, I have one of those except mine is called mymedic.

they are good little machines...quite simple to use.

I use mine in the morning 5 days a week. and the results are sent through to the respiratory nurses. great way of keeping tabs on your condition.

good luck with yours.

Wonderful keeping away from hospital in the comfort of their home looked after by nurses watching computers an electronic guardian angel watching over.

Alerts when the action plan should be used, something I try putting off hoping for nothing serious removing doubt on state of health.

I ve got telehealth installed and I find it quite reassuring it s not just a machine after you have done the readings in the morning Ithey get sent via bluetooth connection I think to the community matrons office where they are checked by human s not just a machine. When my blood pressure readings were high, one of them came out on the same day to re check the readings so it s not just an inhuman machine there are real experianced people on the other end of the line.

I had Telehealth in two years ago, i don't know how it works where you live but here in Northern Ireland you only have it installed for a limited period. I had it in for 6 months, i have to say i thought it was a good thing to have, apparently over here there is a new company doing it now. The one i had was set for 11am, it would take my blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen level and send it down the phone line to some where in Belfast, if there was any fluctuation up or down in anything the nurse at the other end would phone to see if everything was alright, sometimes they would ask you to do a manual test. So if anyone is thinking of getting it i would say go for it.
