Some time ago I went to a BLF cluster meeting where there was a choir singing all who had breathing problems and although I can't sing now, (I used to) I would love to know as I live in Solihull close to Birmingham if anyone knows of a group in this particular area. I would love to join.

Polly, I started to learn to play the saxophone in my spare time 2yrs ago, never having played any kind of musical instrument nor being able to read music. It has really helped with my breathing generally (COPD/bullous emphysema). sometimes people actually recognise what I'm playing now too good luck with your search.
Me too Polly. I live west of Wolverhampton and have searched for such a group myself, but can't find one. All the groups around here are proper choirs. I looked for 'natural voice practitioners' as my sister belongs to one of their groups in Wales but again, no luck around here. It might be worth looking on the Internet for your area though. They are singing groups for people with all abilities not just those with breathing problems, but my sister joined as she is asthmatic.
In Coventry there are lots of choirs some of which are run by local churches, U3A groups and local operatic societies. The local council online web pages usually have some information in the leisure activity pages, thats another route to try. Think solihull comes under Birmingham council these days.
