Wouldn't it be better to ask your consultant to explain your results? Insist he/she use understandable terminology, as they do have a habit of rattling off loads of medical jargon, that leaves us more baffled than at the start. :)

I think your doctor should be able to tell you, should there be a wait until you see your consultant. The actual interpretation is done by the consultant usually as part of making a diagnosis. There is a website medicinet.com which has articles on this, but from what I understand these figures help the consultant to diagnose if you have a health problem and if so what it might be. If you already have had tests before and have the results then these figures are useful to notice any changes - improvements or deteriorations. I always ask questions when I am being tested, so I can understand as much as possible. Hope that helps.

Totally agree! Lots of us are experts on our own disease, but remember "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" Ask the people doing the testing.

Quite right, I used to do this as well and it makes matters worse, try to keep an open dialogue with your team, they will guide you on results. You can always call them on Monday and ask to speak to your Rep Nurse I am sure she will clarify and try not too worry and have an internet clear day..

your consultant team should inform what they mean, i think sometime they think we know all the medical gargon, could your G.P help you.
