I have finally got my PR through my assessment is 3rd December then twice a week for six weeks. So now I'm panicking can I do it or am I going to be ill, I've been trying to excerise every morning since recovering from Pnuemonia, but I've know idea if I'm doing it right.

Good Day Kim, congratulations on getting your PR date, there is no need for any concern or panic, the PR course involves more than exercise, but the exercise itself, should start at a manageable level for you and gradually over the weeks your level of fitness will improve and you will find that you are able to do so much more.

Meantime just do regular walks 5-10 mins duration whatever you can manage 3-6 times daily. Inside or outside weather permitting. There is absolutely no pressure just do what you can. Eat good food, drink plenty of fluids, keep well, keep warm and avoid people with colds and flu wherever you can.

Hopefully you will be breathing easy before too long and no doubt will enjoy the PR course.

Good wishes Zoee

Lynne I did mine whilst working (twice!). The sessions were twice a week for 2 hours and work gave me the time off. Try asking it may help. ;)

I'm self employed. So if I have contracted to do work, I just have to do it.

Also, being self employed, you don't know more than 6 weeks ahead what work you might or might not, be getting. So you tend to take everything that comes along in case there isn't any more, and it has to be when they want it done really. I also work all over the country so I am away in hotels for 2/3 days at a time.

What I am saying is I can't really see a way around that unless I give up work, which I don't want to, although I am cutting down a bit now. Even if PR was once a week, I might be able to do it, but twice is too much with the other commitments.

If you are flying around the country working so hard why would you need PR?????? ;)

Dear Kimmy there is no need to worried I Did PR last year they just start you on a minuet at a time and 10 mins rest you just do what you yourself feel comfortable doing so you just don't do things that causes you a problem for example i could not do stand up- sit down exercise due to a couple of crushed discs also could not do arm lifting with light weights because of shoulder problems so I did other exercises that I was ok with twice also any time I did not feel I could do any more stepup, bikeriding, walking ,sometimes I would just stop, the last thing you need is to get panicky I know as i have panic attacks but have learned to recognise them and control them also you get more information as they have people to explain your condition and diets over a cup of tea after each session .They always say any exercise is good exercise even just getting p and making a cup of tea is exercise hope this has helped to ease any worries you may have just remember no one has any right to cause you any distress with best wishes dave.

Thank you very much for all your encouragement it has made me feel better. But I know everyone on here knows when your ill you just want to feel better, my Pnuemonia lasted three months and now I feel quite well I wake up every morning hoping i'm not ill.

Kim

Difficult to say what you should be doing as I don't know your medical history and some exercises are best avoided with some conditions. I would say just do what feels comfortable until you get there and then they will advise you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. x
