Finding comfortable warm footwear that keeps you from slipping on ice and snow (not looking as if you have been fired from a construction site) is always on the get hunkered down for winter message board. My hands and feet get way colder than they ever used to, age or lungs it is hard to say only know that is how it is.

I invested in a pair of proper walking boots a couple of years ago. They are great and fairly light too. I don't really care how I look as long as I'm less likely to fall or get cold - because once my feet are cold that's me...

Keeping my sheepskin lined Ugg boots they might not be the latest fashion they are warm and well used until snow comes then walking is to hard and wait indoors for better days with my toe socks keeping me comfortable.

Pavers, K shoes have some nice warm and comfortable walking boots add to these some snow or ice grips to make you more stable through the winter months.

Get a grip ;)

Zoee - I have just looked at your link and have now ordered some shoe crampons. Just the ticket as when working I cannot avoid going out in bad conditions, but as well as keeping warm I can also prevent falls.

The're great Lynne, gone are the days when you gingerly step out on to ice with visions of falling if you weren't careful. When I first used them I couldn't believe how safe and steady I felt walking on ice, confident knowing I wasn't going to fall.

Old boots are just fine, had the old wellies for more than twenty years with thick socks for the winter (roll the tops down and stops rings on your legs) which makes them a bit tricky getting in and out of them warm and dry whatever comes in trusty old boots.
