yes. X
I laughed too much once and very nearly blacked out, I have got all dizzy coughing as well.
When you cough (or laugh too hard) you use up your breath and don't always breathe in again properly, which will result in not enough oxygen rich blood to the brain, which causes dizziness. However, dizziness can be caused by other things too so maybe you need to have a word with your Dr.
I have coughing fits when my Asthma is bad that makes me feel like I am going to black out. It is because you are cutting off your O2 supply, don't panic if you do pass out, normal service will be resumed It is called Cough Syncopy, and the best management of the condition is to try improve the reasoning behind the coughing bouts in the first place. Sometimes Codeine can help when cough is persistent but should only be prescribed by someone who is very aware of your respiratory illness.
Sometimes when I have a really bad cough I cough so much I see stars, then I have a sneezing fit.
What I worry about is choking ,sometimes I get the phlegm stuck in my throat and think it's not going to clear.
Thankfully have never passed out.

yes it is normal. Make sure you are sitting somewhere soft when it happens in case you do pass out. It is called cough syncope. If you do pass out it will only be seconds. It helps to have a suck of your ventolin to help clear your airways if having a cough fit. Just another thing to deal with
I agree with the others. I know I hav echecked my 02 stats after a spell like that and they are usually low. mind you I am on oxygen 17hrs a day!
Yes it is so try and be sat down if possible. This happens to Pete and frightens me a bit but not much we can do about it. Take care. x
thank you for your advises will try and remember, I have been panicking which then makes it worst
I have passed out 4 times due to coughing. It's very frightening- especially when you come round as I was so disorientated. The first 2 times it happened I was in Cuba and was absolutely petrified! This happened before I got my diagnosis and I went to my GP who basically rolled his eyes and made me feel like a hypochondriach because I had been visiting him frequently with chest infections. It took me passing out at work and being admitted to hospital before anyone took mt symptoms seriously and now I find I have mod COPD.
I am so pleased I googled this as it has been happening to me a lot when I have a cold/cough. I am asthmatic so shall try my inhaler when it happens. Thank you all for your input x
