I made it home from work yesterday just in time to hear Money Box Live, this week about benefits.
One issue that arrose was whether someone over the age of 65, in receipt of DLA care and mobility, would be contacted regarding the change over to PIP. This is a question we have been asked a number of times on the Helpline and the answer is no. Currently no one under 16 or over 65 will be effected.
Hi all, I am over 65 so hopefully I should be ok for the near future anyway, but my heart goes out to you guys of working age. Having to have a test and prove yet again why you need help and cannot do things everyone else can do is so degrading. I have signed the e-petition and I will write complaining to the Health Secretary and I hope everyone else will do so too. Take care and good luck. Maximonkey
12 years on disability, basically 1 lung, after Tuberculosis,Double pneumonia, broken ribs, chronic pain, pleurisy, morphine 24/7, antidepressants x 2 . DLA, Mobility, I have mobility car.Dont see GP unless to increase pain meds, wont get better ever, now panicking, slipping back into depression, become a recluse again cos of these pip rules and the inadequacy of atos or any government to have a slightly sensible operation. Rely on non medical money savers for life support, now severely worried
