Hi

Why don't you speak to one of our welfare benefits advisers on 03000 030 555. They can through the qualifying criteria and also help you to understand how your condition and symptoms may enable you to meet the criteria.

Thanks

Mark

It depends on how copd effects your mobility if you get it or not. There are four grades of copd - mild - moderate - severe - very severe. If you only have moderate or mild it is not likely you will get DLA. Even if you have severe copd it depends on how your mobility is effected. My advice is to telephone the BLF and seek expert advice. The DLA will want proof of your disability. They will request information from you doctor, specialist, copd nurse if you have one. Amazes me that newspapers like the Daily Mail report on how you only have to say you are disabled and you will get hundreds of pounds a month. Not true. It will take quite a while to get it, you maybe refused at first and have to appeal. But it is backdated if awarded to when you first put in the application. All the best with you application.
