Asthma attack

Hi all just thought i would post some thoughts on my recent episode.Am in 80 years, visited Daughter and family just before Christmas, having not had attack for over 12 months, was caught unawares , of the different environment ,change of food and water, was continuing inhalers ,excercise etc, BUT,,,, wood burner ,long haired cat, etc set off attack , but as viruses doing the rounds, no one even me considered asthma, all said( i.e 111 and a local doc) current infection ,vomiting and cough will take 3 weeks to clear,I rang Nurse here at asthma/lung,and immediately told me to start Prednislone, (fantastic) back home ,cough worse, local doc said asthma, started AB Doxycycline, very ill on first dose two tabs, but settled as body acclimatised, and now on additional 6 days AB.s.so thankfully all under control, Peak flow 250, so increasing Preventer Avenor to higher dose.

Hope my experience, may help another who may suddenly, start to feel lung unwell, and NOT to accept that "Virus doing the rounds" Take care all, and Thank god for such a wonderful Team.

So pleased that you are now feeling better now.

It’s tough with so many bugs going around isn’t it ? Almost everyone I know has suffered this winter.

Go well
