hi all

well saw dr she’s given me another set of steroids to take with the AB & a back up rescue pack for the future .

chest is pretty clear now just bringing up thick white stuff .still wheezing a bit.

yes i’ve had a bad chest infection which justified me using my rescue pack but these bouts of severe what i thought were exasperations of copd turns out there panick attacks which is very common with people who have copd .

reading up on the symptoms it completely makes sense and kind of put my mind at ease knowing it’s that and not something more sinister although it’s very scary at the time which is terrifing & completely wipes you out with exhaustion .

she’s change my citalapram to fluoxetine and given me a small dose of lorazepam to take when i feel an attack coming on ,at least i know i don’t need to call an ambulance & try as hard as it maybe to do square breathing as well .

it’s not great news as i’m still sob must of the time but it’s not the worst news i could of had .

so there you go guys ……

thanking you so much for your kind words & support during this last week it’s meant so much to me .maybe one day i can repay any advice to anyone of you .

love to you all, for now anyway xxx🥰

Hi, glad you're getting good GP advice, lve only recently heard of the emergency packs and always have preds and ab's on hand. Just wanted to know why they changed your citalopram?

she thinks the fluoxetine is going to be more suited to me now with having these attacks .

Hopefully steroids will quickly settle things down.hope yr new medications help.slipping into yr controlled breathing as soon as u feel anxiety starting, should help u to relax.practise often,so it becomes familiar + u automatically use it as needed. Xx
