I've severe EDAC × severe TBM both greater than 90% collapse on normal breathing.read up on controlled pursed lips breathing technique on aluk website.its important to remain calm to maintain airflow.id practise the technique frequently so u can be familiar with it when needed.it can take time but does work.id ask to see a respiratory physio for tips too
The Brompton gave me a Cpap machine. For reasons not yet really understood, it helps enormously and the effect lasts into the daytime
hi. I have recently been told I have EDAC. Very worried, but I was treated for Asthma and nothing helped. I’m now under the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.
I am in my local hospital right now. Treated fir flu and RSV blood clot on lung.
Hopefully thus forum will get me to a safe confident place.

I have just come out of the Brompton today after a Broncoscopy on Monday and the main thin that has come out of it is the diagnosis of EDAC
Excessive dynamic airway collapse assessment
Rest/Forced expiration/cough
Trachea 50 / 70 / 70
Left main bronchus 20 / 40 / 40
Left lower lobe 70 / 100 / 100
Right main bronchus 50 / 70 / 70
Bronchus intermedius 20 / 50 / 50
I am already a severe astmatic with sleep aponea so been on CPAP for 10 years.
I am on already on all the asthma medications including nebs, hypotonic saline, Fluticasone, Spiviva, Prednisolone and Tezepleumab biological treatment)
So next steps for me are apparently More pulmonary physio to try and help strengthen the airways. luckily not quiet at the point of stents yet but now this part has been diagnosed they can keep an eye on things
But it does make the increased breathlessness i have been getting on excretion.
