Haven’t been on for a while due to my fourth month in Hospital.
Started with Covid in July and went for what I thought was a routine IV for transplanted patients with C19 in Brighton.
Wrong , docs had a look at me, asked if they could do a chest Xray then bloods and before you could say “ I’m meeting a friend for a swift pint “I was whizzed off to a bed and captured for 5 weeks as they discovered “organising pneumonia ”on my brand new shiny lungs.
Low and behold the Ozzy Osbourne strength powder didn’t touch the sides so I was captured again whilst in their beautiful cafe reading a discarded copy of the Sun ( I thought that was discontinued).
Anyway, couldn’t find the gardening tips on page 3 so I guessed they’ve moved them so put the paper in my dressing gown pocket for further investigation to be found by my nurse I was being transferred straight away up to Papworth where I had my transplant last March as they wanted a crack at this pneumonia.
It took them a further 4 weeks to clear most of it away but between the C19 and the Pneumonia my lungs were in a right 2in 8 with pleural effusion, lung collapse, worsening leg neuropathy making stairs a no no, still the case today but working on it.
Anyway, still waiting for results from specialist labs on the 2.5 litres of ribena they extracted as all sorts of scenarios can now play out so on mythalprednisilone and others antibiotics until the boffins have also finished looking for the gardening tips on page 3.
Will try and keep you updated but can only type when these damn tacrlalimus tremors calm down enough.

it’s good to hear from you MrB but I’m really sorry to know what’s been going on with you and you’ve been so long in the hospital. Ido hope things get better for you soon and you find those gardening tips. Maybe gardeners are too modest these days to reveal their tips? Thinking of you and sending lot of good wishes.
😂🤣😂 You’re a very naughty boy !!It’s great that you can still have a laugh after all that time incarcerated and mauled with . Stay strong and funny and hopefully you’ll be back with your mates soon who will no doubt point you in the right direction for the gardening and wildlife tips ! x

Whn I'm tired,I go up on hands n feet,much easier.i hope u soon get results and continue to improve.hope you+ Mrs B are coping OK,in the circumstances. ..ps id forget the garden!..for now at least
Well l never, l was thinking about you the other day as l passed Bojangles truffles on the supermarket shelf. So pleased you’re still around but not too happy to hear about your ongoing health problems. What a shame but let’s hope the doctors can get things sorted and get you back to gardening again. My tip: don’t buy the Sun for gardening tips as they don’t have any although you’d think they would.

This is the trouble with hospitals, you go in for one problem & before you know it they’ve diagnosed half a dozen others 🙄They mean we’ll, bless them. Try to keep in mind that you have been better, and will be again.
I go upstairs on my hands & knees but I’m guessing you’ve probably tried that. My tremors are becoming unmanageable now (cause as yet unknown) but I find using iPhone is best because I only need to control one finger. Takes ages tho!
I know that café well - an oasis of normality amongst hospital chaos. Until the nurses track you down! I had to laugh at the disclaimer they get you to sign before you leave the care of the ward. One of the consequences of your recklessness is listed as “death” 😂
My last piece of advice - get a gardener! Onwards & upwards xxx
2.5 litres! My goodness you poor thing. I do hope they're getting under control and that you'll soon be home. Take care (and don't touch newspapers & magazines in hospitals or gp surgeries, they're covered in germs! Took me ages to get the gardening tips on page 3 joke 🙄 but whatever it take to keep your pecker up MrB!
What a time you've had ....I feel for you really! Hospitals are no fun at all . Fingers crossed that you're on the mend ....sorry can't help with gardening tips .....mine is just grass and loads of rose bushes round the borders! Take care....we don't want to hear that you've been overdoing things!!!!
Bloody hell, I was pretty sure you'd passed your sell by date, lying there with pennies in your eyes. It is no small miracle that you can articulate such a funny and positive posting. I have much missed your updates. I have been visiting a 95 year old American patient for near 4 months, uncertain of whether he'd make a recovery and last Wednesday morning he was shipped out of UCLH by ambulance, straight to Heathrow and travelled to Miami, Florida by business class. His wife texted me to say "The éagle has landed". Unbelievable.
I've yet to read the responses to your post but will do so after sending this. As for gardening tips, it's a bit nippy to be looking for titty.❤️
With Christmas a-coming, I've been busy with music, learning and playing tunes that I discover from time to time. I was shortlisted for Series 3 of the Piano, had an audition at Royal Academy of Music, shortlisted but not made the final cut. Otherwise I'd have been on Channel 4 TV sometime next year. I'm not actually fan of Claudia Winkleman who comperes the show. In one episode in Series 2 she told one nervous contestant, "You're electric". Honestly that mean sweet FA to the guy. Just shut up Claudia. Volunteering takes two mornings and an evening shift each week. Keeping busy keeps me active. I will be posting soon about playing piano in Queen Mary's hospital, Roehampton. A recent venture has been to sit in with vulnerable adults (all having counselling for mental or addiction) where I sit at a piano and just talk about music, with little demonstrations on the keyboard. Major to minor, rhythm, and melodic patterns. I've just accomplished a 12 week run. To tell the truth i'm beginning to feel I'm one of them. Anyway, I'm rabbiting on . Your dad gets a mention now again as I tour a ward with my Bluetooth speaker but the last time I played "How can you buy Killarney" your dad was jockeyed aside by Bing Crosby! Have a good weekend.
The work you do is immeasurable and for that you deserve a whacking big medal.
Talking of Dad, it makes me chuckle when my own kids paid little or no attention to an Irish Tenor from the Jurassic era until they discovered David Bowie was a supporting act for the old man in 1970 at the Albert Hall and even asked for his autograph.
Sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough time of it but it’s great that you took the time to make us all smile with your funny post and update. I hope they can sort you out and get you back on your feet asap.
It is unbelievable what the human body can go through. I was thinking of you the other day and wondering where you were. So sorry that you have been through so much. I can't imagine 4 months in Hospital. I had one month last year, which has now put me off watching Hospital programmes. Keep on getting up and plodding on. Oh Mr B it's so nice to see a post from you, your humour has been missed on site. What a time you have been through, but it is good they are keeping a close eye on you, although it's a long time to spend in hospital. I hope you are feeling a little better now and you recover well at home. Keep away from those gardening tips on page 3 they never were any good x
Bless you, you are definitely going through it. I’m still battling bilateral pleural/ pericardial effusion’s so I know how you feel, breathing is so hard especially with pneumonia let alone Covid also. Here’s hoping they sort you out properly and you can return home soon.
Well you have been through the millstone Mr B! (or whatever the expression is). But you sound cheerful enough now, a sense of humour helps enormously of course. Do hope you fully recover and they don't whisk you away again. I should forget about the garden for now, it's settling down for the winter. Roll on Spring! x

Good to know your still soldiering on. I've just passed my 5 year post double lung TX and always look out for interaction on the site to see how your doing. There is so few of us, best wishes and keep your chin up.

Struggling with flare up
3 months after pneumonia and pluricy... should I have more tests or is it normal to still have pain and shortness of breath? 
feeling down…..and still confused about diagnosis….
