my husband is on 16hours oxygen + higher oxygen when moving about he has been clearing his chest with huffing and puffing as shown to him. But besides his normal cough he says he has an irritating cough which seems to be coming from his throat. Has anyone else got this. Advise appreciated. Hope I have explained it ok.

I usually gargle cold water as far back as I can.also a tspn of clear honey is gd to coat the throat.it may be worth using his salbutamol inhaler, when symptomatic

I sometimes get a tickly cough which seems to originated in the throat, not the lungs. A drink of water helps or Boots honey linctus. I daren't use throat pastels for fear of choking myself.

I have found since starting Fostair Nexthaler I have developed a cough and is worse at night when lying down. Nothing I have tried is helping with this so have stopped the inhaler and gone back to Luforbec which has helped. I make a honey, lemon and ginger drink and this eases my throat and lungs. Perhaps speak with the doctor , your hubby may have an infection. Hope you find something that helps x

Sometimes a short course of steroids helps to clear up the chest of inflammation, maybe the gp will help with this x

I wonder if it might be acid reflux?

Glad you suggested that as I have asked the consultant to give him a higher dose of omeprazole which she has agreed to do so I hope it helps him. She did look at me funny and shook her head so I am thanks for your reply It was looking like it was just me thinking it.
