hi...haven't posted in a while. Confused. Last year sited emphesyma this year didn't but " new areas of subsegmental mucus plugging" ( what do I do for that)? And " mildly dilated pulmonary artery suggesting pulmonary hypertension". In past they also noted bronchioecstasis and hyper inflated lungs. Can anyone give input on new mucus plugs and mild pulmonary hypertension?
So many thanks!!

Hi Cobalt, when a radiologist reports a CT scan they will generally only comment on the existing condition if your referrer has specifically asked a question about it, i.e "any progression of emphysema?", If the question was non specific such as "for lung assessment" the radiologist will generally only comment on current pathology if there is significant change.
The radiologist has probably decided your emphysema is unchanged enough to warrant a comment, concentrating more on your new pathologies as greater importance. Mucus plugging are areas of trapped mucus, generally found deep in your airways when are a sign of many things such as infection, bronchitis, bronchiectasis etc. pulmonary hypertension is something that can occur when the blood pressure is raised within you lungs only and puts pressure on the vessels in there.
My Ct scan recently confirmed mucus plugging. I was recommended carbosistien. I see you have various lung diagnoses but all mild. Do these impact you much day to day?
Hi. Thanks for responding. Mostly day to day ok. Only occasional sob and dip in oxygen level unless I get a virus and then of course little harder. But mostly I'm lucky I'm ok. I'm going to check out what you take. Thanks for sharing. All the best to you.
