Exactly, what summer. I’m in the Midlands and we definitely didn’t have summer!
Yes it was a year to vacate to Florida for a year, been misserable.
But not to Florida now!
Fine but has to be Greece/Spain or Turkey.
My daughter has just come back from 2 weeks in southern Italy and it was hot!
Italy is mostly warm all year, that would be good, never been but would like to go to Venice.
These r a welcome sight Ern.theyre both beautiful.yes it's certainly been a wet year up here x
They bring a little bit of Spring back to us all. Thank you.
Very colourful and pretty Ern. The detail on the roses is excellent.
The weather has been a bit crazy this year but we’ve done quite well on the South coast. Xxxx❤️
Hi Ern it's been a changeable weather in the south only a few warm days but lots of rain too.I really love the colours of your roses painting and the spring one is a delight on a wet day
Ern, with your permission I'm showing Spring again as it is such a reassuring and comforting picture to gaze upon. (My phone allows me to "crop" in edit mode and regulate the corners to 90 degrees.)
The seasons certainly aren’t how we used to know them. Lovely pictures, pretty roses. Thank you for sharing and brightening dark Autumnal mornings.
Gorgeous as always, i love the colours you use! I think we had a few sunny days for summer in Scotland - might have been over a few weeks though!!
I’m wishing my life away Ern but I really want spring/summer back with lots of warm days and beautiful flowers. I dislike this time of the year and really only look forward to getting my Christmas tree up. Love your beautiful paintings though, the beautiful colours of spring with the romantic roses, thanks for sharing Ern and making me smile on a dreary day.
Take care
Wendy xx
Love the contrast of colours with the roses. Definitely no lovely summer here in the north. A few days maybe. I’m thinking of getting my really duvet like winter coat out ! X
Hi Ern, lovely paintings thank you. Love the way the field in the background of the spring flowers changes from green to yellow. Looks, to me, like a green meadow followed by a field of corn 😊. xxxx
Lovely roses such a vibrant colour. I spent so long waiting for summer to arrive but It really never did. So much rain. I have never seen so many people having roofs repaired/replaced. xx
Always nice to get some sea air.xx
It is Dottie. I always liked the sea, when we went abroad, we always picked a sea resort to stay. xx
Yes growing up we always went to the seaside. My Mum had Bronch also and she loved the sea air for her chest. Eating fresh crab sandwiches as a treat at the end of the holiday was good too. Cromer did a nice tasty one xx
Going to the seaside when I was young was magic. We did not go in a car , we travelled by train, unless South England, then it was a coach.
Blackpool was crowded, beach was crowded., there was no real overseas destinations then. Fish n Chips tasted better then, I don't buy them anymore..
Best weather was almost guarentees to be sunny and in the 70s.
I don't stop in Blackpool itself. we stay at Norbreck neat Cleevleys - We can see the Lake District from there, Sea air is good for chests. I breath better when at coast. xx
Yes we had many sunny holidays in the 70s. Swimming in the sea and pools and wearing a t shirt so as not to burn. Torquay was a repeat visit. Bournemouth, Weymouth, Great Yarmouth, Cromer, and Portland Bill were some also. Blackpool a few times but later with friends via coach trip. We were in late teens but still skinny and light. Riding Donkeys on the beach and yes always crowded. The fun fair was a big attraction for us in those days. These days I would prefer Norbreck. I have just located it on the map. My go to place for peace and sea air has been Cornwall in later years. Southern Ireland was wonderful. My husband and I toured all over the coast it will forever hold wonderful memories. xx
Hello Ern, loved both of your paintings. Such a balance of colours with your field scene and a generous, pleasing landscape.
Your rises are very good and not overworked. They’re not easy to paint at the best of times. Thank you! 🤗
Lovely picture! We all need a little colour in our lives! I think summer amounted to 3 days when we had sunshine and no rain!!! Autumn colours are beautiful though
Both painting are fantastic I couldn't say I like one more than the other because there both gorgeous art work
Hi Ern007, the brightly coloured canvass looks like spring but could be a summer garden too. The purple & black canvass is quite modern design colours would look really good on a lounge wall . maybe in a grey coloured room. Hopefully when winters over spring will be bright and cheerful. Time to start thinking of Christmas my friend has already wrote her cards. Ive bought some but not written any yet. Enjoy the rest of the day, its sunny but nippy here in the midlands.
