Signs of Spring!

A lovely sunny day today in East Anglia; went up to our allotments and was greeted by our friendly Robin, so fed him (or is it a her?) some mealworms and topped up the fatball feeders, they soon attracted a small flock of, mostly, Long Tailed Tits. Walked through our small wood area and was delighted to see several clumps of Snowdrops already out - and one lone Daffodil but more in bud. Its just a day or so over seven weeks to the first day of Spring now.

I didn't have a camera with me today - but this is a photo of our allotments from a few years ago - my plot is the one with the flowers.

What a fantastic allotment, I grow what veg I can in Potts in the back garden. Have notice my daffadills are begining to bloom so spring definitely on the way. Have a good night and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

How fantastic is that? It makes me feel healthy just looking at all those vegetables. Did you grow the flowers for a purpose kibera? I ask, as that mass of flowers would attract lots of butterflies and bees. Your photo would surely encourage many of us (if we could), to grow our own. Cheers, Chrys

What a picture....I used to have an allotment, but it never looked as good as that. I do miss it but had to give it up when I fractured my spine and arthritis set in. But I have small plot in my garden now.

My daughter had an allotment when she lived in East Anglia....great productive soil.

No sign of snowdrops in my garden yet, some daffodil and hyacinth bulbs are sprouting though.

Thanks for the photo, and news of the signs of spring.

What a lovely healing place. There is nothing like fruit and veg straight from the earth?

That's a great photo, really cheered me up. I used to have an allotment on the edge of my Cotswold town, it was a tonic. I now live opposite small private allotments so can sit back & watch other people's veg and flowers grow x
