Oh so cute. Wonderful image. We have just had more sheep arrive in a field near where we live. These sights always raise my spirits. xx

They really are. Do they walk around freely like the ponies ?

Blackbird9 profile image
Blackbird9β€’ in reply toHungryHufflepuff

Yes only from September till end of November they eat the acorns than can be toxic to livestock 😍

They look adorable when they're little piglets, but boy, can the big ones tear up a lawn! Our property is hit by the herd once or twice every couple years and they leave it looking like a rototiller went through! Great shot of the piggies!

Blackbird9 profile image
Blackbird9β€’ in reply todunnellon

These are left to run the forest and eat the acorns that are toxic to the livestock 😍

Aww how lovely to see them roaming freely instead of in an intensive farm and great that the livestock can then graze safely😊. Beautiful photo Blackbird xxx

Blackbird9 profile image
Blackbird9β€’ in reply toNula2

Thanks so much Nula they do go home after pannage season 😊

Nula2 profile image
Nula2β€’ in reply toBlackbird9

It must be difficult to round them all up. Guess the babies will follow their mums but do the mums go happily back? Expect they are kept in barns and not chained up unable to move as I've seen in the past (very sad sight that wasπŸ’”)xxx

Blackbird9 profile image
Blackbird9β€’ in reply toNula2

They are kept in fields on their owners land when at home and they have pigstys to sleep in .... Mum's go home on direction from the owners and the piglets just naturally follow πŸ˜€

Nula2 profile image
Nula2β€’ in reply toBlackbird9

Ah that's lovely. 😊 I know they will end up as food for humans but they are given the best life possible meantime. πŸ‘β€οΈ xxx
