It only took a few cases to spread and develop into the situation we have today, after 45,000 deaths.

Countries with very low rates of the virus are allowing international travel for the summer holidays. I'm not a virologist and don't understand these things, but wouldn't this risk causing higher numbers of the virus than there had been before the lockdowns. Even within a country, allowing everything to reopen and get back to normal will surely spread the virus. On the other hand, the world can't stay in lockdown for ever πŸ€”

Hi 2 greys, I saw it on the news this morning. It was always going to happen sadly. People do what they want to do it seems. Anything for a drink! Xxxx

I think more pubs will start to stop trading permanently. How many times are they willing to pay for a deep clean, repeatedly, having to be closed for the duration of. What about the staff, will they be willing to take the risk of infection, what about their wages whilst a deep clean takes place.

I notice that one of the pubs thought the report of someone having a positive test might have been fake. Unfortunately, there are nasty people who might do this for the sole purpose of ruining another person's business.

Sadly, I believe we are in for a rise in cases now that there are so many opportunities for people to congregate in close proximity to each other.

Personally, I intend to keep out of crowds for the foreseeable future and avoid people I don't know.

I used to run pubs, I'm so glad I'm not longer in that trade. It was bound to happen some pubs having to close again. 😊 Bernadette xx xx 🌈

It would be respectful and useful/truthful when speaking about the number of cases to include the 20,000 from care homes to hammer home the despicable manner in which they were treated. For example, 45,000 + 20,000 allows time to pause and makes it more powerful.
