Wow thatβs amazing πAre they wild pigs? π·
No huff they arent wild ..and only let out to run the forest during mid September to mid November as they eat the acorns that are on the forest floor...the acorns are toxic to the ponies hence pannage time π
Everyone's happy π π΄ Piggies get the acorns and the ponies don't. I didn't know acorns are harmful to ponies.
You must live in picturesque area. So many wonderful photos. x
We have wild boar here in the Forest of Dean , I have lived here for 4 years and have never seen one . One day I will , lots of my friends have seen them . When they have their piglets they can be scary as they are protecting them
Oh how lovely, I actually like pigs very much BB. What does pannage mean please? xx ππππππ
Hi Cas
Pannage is the time we let the pigs out on the forest to munch up all the acorns that fall from the trees as they are toxic to the ponies but the pigs can have them and love them ...
It's the same time each year mid September to mid November...if you Google new forest pannage it might give you some more information regarding this time of year and make an interesting read for you π§‘π§‘
