your eyes rule your life so concentrate on that and you will have one good reye. it is hectic and thatis not good but do nt worry , they are not doing both eyes at same time surely ?
Never had a cataract op but a number of friends have. They all said it was a doddle and then couldn't wait to get the second one done. Good luck on Thursday. Totally with you regards Prednisolone, hateful stuff, but so necessary. x
Hi Jo, you certainly have a lot going on. Pete has had both eyes done and it all went really well. You will be fine Iโm sure. Wishing you well and a very happy birthday in a few weeks. Are you a Libran or Scorpio? Pete turns 73 on 11/10.
Thatโs fine Jo. Hope your son David has a good birthday. Pete was born on the same day as his dad so what a great gift that was๐ Heโs also an only child. All good here thanks.
Good morning Buzzytruk. You have certainly got a fully packed week ahead. Hope the cataract surgery goes well. The actual procedure takes about 15 minutes, the waiting is while they are putting multiple drops in your eyes beforehand. You will then just have to wear an eyeshield for a week while sleeping and eye drops for a month. Good luck. Hope everything is well with your 6 week check up afterwards at the opticians. Brian
Best wishes for the coming week. Hope that all goes well, starting with the car sailing through its MOT and the gas all nicely cleaned up ready for winter. There can't be any complications with the hairdresser- just come out looking beautiful. Then the big one. Very best wishes for that. Everyone on here assures us that cataract surgery is painless and effective- I'm sure they are right. Chris xxxx
Good luck on Thursday, I'm so pleased that you can have the op sitting in a chair. Will be thinking of you. 79 to 80 seems a big leap to me , may you have a lovely, clear sighted birthday Buzzy ๐
Hi there, Will be glad when it's all over , but you are right about the leap from 79. to. 80 years .....it's frightening.....Last year at 78 I tried , and booked a holiday with a very large coach company in the UK . To Belgium./Holland etc it wasn't long About 5 or 7 days ... As a trial ........ to see friends in Holland ...........Never again ...!!!
Someone spotted I was an elderly solo passenger with a scooter , from then on everything went down hill.
The excuses given why I should cancel were quite unbelievable. From downright silly to positively personal.
This year I was looking at cruises again on which my dearest and I spent many happy times with Cunard . I can't get a solo cabin as always fully booked , and I can't afford the full prices . Now with this Govm. in charge they will not even leave me enough for a rowing boat .... I can and possibly will do a ..... doh het zelf....... Catch a ferry from
Harwich and drive over .... Who knows...??? .......Won't be the first time. .!! .
I'm surprised the coach company objected to your scooter. I went to Tenby recently with a large coach company (the sister company I suspect of the one that you tried.) There were a lot of us old fogeys on the coach with all sorts of walking aids neatly stowed in the boot. Perhaps it depends how much boot space is left. Perhaps they won't take the elderly out of Britain. I might ask them. Good luck with getting a decent holiday, however you do it. xxx
What a busy little busy bee you will be this coming week. I am sure all will go well with your surgery on Thursday, we are all rooting for you. Rest up in between x
