I have just contracted covid again. I have been very careful since the last infection as it caused havoc. Now I qualify for antivirals. Has anyone ever had them?

COPVIOD again!
Hi, sorry to hear you have covid. I've had antivirals twice now with no adverse side effects. Hope you feel better soon 🌹
So sorry to hear that Annieosb. Pete had antivirals and did ok on them. They seemed to lessen the symptoms.
Feel better soon. Xxx❤️
I’ve only had Covid once and had an antiviral infusion. It stopped my breathing getting worse, and I didn’t have any side effects.
Yes I had Paxlovid a couple of years ago they did seem to lessen the symptoms but once I'd finished them I seemed to get a bad chest again. I've had covid twice since and not had them. Currently getting over the latest bout which was like a very heavy cold/flu. I only have severe asthma though rather than copd, bronc or emphysema.
A friend got them. Very effective.
Hi covid is still very present out there I had it in April for the 2nd time. I had antivirals on the 1st positive test but they changed the criteria for bronchiectasis patients now so I Don't qualify anymore according to my gp.I was worried about not getting any complications but was fine without them. I hope you feel better soon and get what you need although it's 800mg 4 times a day which is a big boost to your system
Hi, hubby had sotrivamab infusion as tablets would interact with his regular meds. Sadly no help at all, in hospital via 999 within two days, virtually unconscious. He had the infusion on day 3 of COVID. I think generally though the antivirals help. I think Cliff's complex health problems complicated things and on admission and after xrays was diagnosed as having pneumonia as well together with Haemophilus Influenzae. Hope all goes well with you. xx
I am so sorry this is happening. I don’t know why, as I work in a local hospital near patients all the time, I haven’t had COVID yet. I really don’t get why. My co workers have had it several times, so has my family. I hear it is horrible. Hoping for a speedy recovery and that your breathing is alright.
How many times have you had it?Never heard of Antivirals
I've stopped having vaccinations
Including Flu Vac, not had that in years. I believe my symptoms disease was triggered by it.
Who knows
I hope you recover soon.
I'm on 2months steroids, two weeks antibiotics. Guaranteed, soon as I'm off, it will be another infection, one after the other all year. I feel for you and all who are suffering
Sorry I've never had them
I've had COVID twice, the first the absolute worst. Nearly died with it, refused hospital, don't think l would have survived. On call GP couldn't make the decision, said I would take my chances. Here I am, recovery a couple of more months. I donated Platelets and Plasma, thereafter, I was making an abundance of my own antibodies, this went to aid COVID patients.
I laid off having vaccines for a long while, l didn't want it, as I was making my own. I could kick myself for giving in due to wanting to travel. Oh well, again who really knows.
My diagnosis: Cryptogenic Organising Pneumonia, Bronchiectasis, Aspergillus, with added Nodes. The first is resistant to most antibiotics, causes a huge issue, June , admitted for 3 X weeks Antibiotics, July, 2 weeks oral antibiotics, plus 2 mths Prednisolone steroids, plus
2-3 X daily Saline and Hypertonic Pulmoclear Nebs. Montelucast 1x daily. Not under control by any means. Oramorph pain relief, only if absolutely required, Co-Codomol as and when required.
I am hoping this will be less. I try to stay off pain relief.
Just to share with all, as we learn what works/doesn't work.
? Carbocistine, who takes this
Is it helping breakdown Mucus.
I've laid off it for a week to see if there's a difference, l believe it not to be as effective
Would like to here responses please.
Apologies if this is taking much of your queries, thanks
You have certainly had a very bad time I'm sorry to hear that covid causes terrible issues take care
I take carbocysteine 2 twice a day.if it's too thick I can increase to 2x3times,or if too runny and flooding lungs I either reduce or stop for cpl days
Thanks , I really am unsure if it helps me. My real issue is throat to rib area. Its collected there and non productive. Today has just been so, hot sweaty coughing but no phlegm. I sound like Darth Vader on a bad day
This may be totally useless advice but my best expectorant is Fishermans Friends!! Not too tasty but they work!
COVID, it is still out there ! As are other virusesI never test, why bother, it's another flu type illness. Before COVID we had coughs, colds sore throats, all COVID type symptoms, why test. We react to common colds suffering severely as we have underlying illness.
Treat accordingly , there will be another virus to replace COVID every year, it's just a name
Disagree. My future daughter in law caught it in 2020 and it caused her immune system to attack her liver. She was a healthy 27 year old. She’s now on anti rejection meds for the rest of her life and is at risk of diabetes and cancer more than most people. She now has infusions if she catches it again. So no, Covid is not a cold.
So awful, I would like to believe there will be something that can reverse all this damage, there are so many people suffering such debilitating symptoms.
We can test and test for any kind of SARS just seems a pointless exercise at times. How can we be sure it's COVID and not the vaccines themselves causing issues.
Thousands suffering and fatalities recorded of repercussions from them, science is a long way off developing antidotes for us.
It's a shame there was panic to get a vaccine and not tested those who were naturally creating their own antibodies.
I had them a couple of years ago and I think they kept my symptoms mild. The worst thing was the horrible taste they left in your mouth. I took 3 a day and as soon as the taste was gone it was time for another dose. Compared to getting Covid I think they were worth it.
