Unbelievable!

Good evening all,

Last week, I asked for advice:

Please I need help…

I have lots of phlegm coming up. My scan showed mucus plugs.

I had some great replies, for which I am very grateful.

A few days ago, the consultant prescribed Muco Clear 3%, taken through a nebuliser... what a difference it has made!

I don't feel congested, lungs feel clear and my oxygen levels are higher. The awful phlegm that was coming up (like a running tap) has STOPPED.

Its early days... I hope this is my answer to my problem.

Hello 123Daisy, that sounds just what I need! The last time my lungs felt clear was briefly for about a day and a half after they’d been washed out with saline during a bronchoscopy. I’d love to feel phlegm free again. Did you get the nebuliser and Muco clear on the nhs or have you had to buy it? I really need to sort this for myself one way or the other. Thanks.

Hello, on the NHS... my consultant thought it may help. I had to go in for about a 1.5 hour appointment at the hospital for a trial.

I'm not sure what the future holds at the moment I'm feeling good.

hi 123Dausy, my husband is the exact opposite to you he struggles to bring the phelm up spending hours in the bathroom retching & gargling. We’re seeing the lung specialist in October and I’m wondering to ask if a Nebuliser with Muco 3% would help my husband who has Pulmonary Fibrosis. Thank you good luck to you. XrossStitch

Ask the specialist... the Muco Clear also comes in 6% strength.

All the best.

sounds brilliant doctor just changed me month ago into some tablet called Naccy one a day in water, from carbosticine I think that’s what they are called 2x3 a day, but I’m not sure this Naccy is working for me as I’m stuck trying to fetch it up all day long with no success. Is Muco clear a new one out as I’m interested after your little success message. Fed up of been struggling every day. Thanks Ken

The consultant also prescribed the tablets that are dissolved in water... however, didn't make much difference. I don't think Muco Clear is new... Talk to your consultant, all the best.
