I assume most of you won't be venturing far out of the house today - even though from my sofa the sky is blue and the sun is shining but it's a bit parky (cold) out there. So what's your ideal way of passing the time on a cold day like today?

Cooking...after watching the snow fall last night.
I managed to do a bit of my allotment this year, so I am making a curry from the odds and ends of veg that I grew, stewing the last of my cooking apples and making soup from the squash that my daughter grew on her allotment.
I have no relations living nearby so the weekends are quiet.
Enjoy your weekend
Twinkle and I have already done our curcuit of the village to get the newspaper. Sunny, freezing cold and an uphill struggle but it is easier than the plod around the fields before I moved from my isolated barn and it gets my lungs working. Have done my ironing. Now I can feel very virtuous, read the papers, finish my bookclub book and look forward to Strictly.
Defo is freezing LIKE being threw in cold bath well takes ya breath away NOT like have much to begine with.
Ad give socal service S### myself but dont think office is open weekend.
So have to seetle for watching tv with me bobble hat on.
I am not aware of any temperature changes but the sun is streaming brightly through the windows of my isolation room and I am very cosy and busy.
Because I'm a woman I am of course multi-tasking: listening to Lyric FM, keeping up with all my HU friends and family by phone and email, chatting to all the medical staff, doing nebs, reading the paper, eating a satsuma, and looking out the window at the sunny cityscape and blue sky. I can do all this with my feet up so I'll add resting to the list.
Sounds like everybody's having a fun Saturday specially with grandchildren. Facetiming later with our grandson will be the highlight of the day for my husband and me.
had a good walk round town for two hours did a bit of shopping now home to see all my lovely messages for this app make tea and then watch the X factor get my out of here and may be a good film later on ??? Tomorrow up to my grand daughter to do some lighting for her make up a shoe rack for her and then home Monday of to walk with my camera for a few hours across the moors take some landscape photo,s if weather will allow
Having gone up shop yesterday I am still recovering from effects of cold so no intention of going out, sadly that leaves the ironing mountain so 15 mins ironing, do one of my exercise, 15 minutes ironing and so on. No chance of being rescued by visitors as son is awayin Telford and other in Israel and all rest gone to football. Only thing is hope to feel virtuou when see reduced mountain!
I get old box sets that are cheap, for example I Claudius (because they can be affordable) and store up books on the Kindle for times when I can't get out and not able to exercise. Just downloaded all of Emile Zola's books on to the Kindle for £1.99 and will listen to the series on Radio Four that started today. I read all of the Rougon-Marquart series of 20 books when I was a student over 50 years ago and have re-read Germinal and Ladies Delight (Au Bonheur de Dames) a few times over the years. I knit a lot while watching DVDs and reading and sew along to audio books - currently into War and Peace.
Very high winds and very cold here today, tried to go out for a walk but soon came back!
Hi Mark, well it's relatively mild here on west coast of Scotland. I've been out & about shopping with my daughters & grandaughters. I've also been to see another of my grandaughters who is 4 today.
We have been driving home after a few days with friends and a reunion with old colleagues. Stopped at a factory out,et on the way home and only bought a light weight fleece for my other half and lots of chocolate from the Cadbury shop. Got to hide that otherwise will not fit into my wedding dress on Friday. The rest of the week I have got so much to do I will not have a chance to do anything other than rush around whether the weather is hot , cold, wet or freezing!
Well I didn't stay in today. We had a ride over to Boundary Mill near Burnley, in the shadow of Pendle Hill. I thought I would regret it, thought the car park would be choc a block - but wasn't too bad.
Back home now - just me and my 14 yr old son in tonight - he has plans for what we will be watching on the TV later - won't tell me what - we need to decide what we have for tea first - but he's fast asleep on the sofa - it is a hard life being a 14 year old.
Just noticed your post Mark, been busy catching up on washing ect after my four day holiday in Berkshire. Nice to hear you had a good day with your son. My freind called round with some apples and we had tea and a chat Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
