I was misdiagnosed as having Bipolar 1 (please accept I have peer reviewed research-based proof) and found studies that confirmed this medical condition is often confused/conflated with the oyschiatric disorders of Bipolar 1, hypomania, etc
Does anyone have citations of research studies, peer reviewed for this concern/interest? Thanks!

Hi, my husband was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 1991 and put on steroids (prednisolone) but I’ve never heard of it being misdiagnosed as bipolar 1 before. No idea how that could happen as a lung biopsy is usually done to determine diagnosis.
Thank you for that one sassy59, I find that one hard to take in too, however mis diagnosis does occur especially in people with past mental health history, but I agree the physical health history mentioned has further tests to establish if it is that. x
Mistakes are sometimes made can't help on your request. But suffice to say following my recent cancer diagnosis I was asked to take Lithium to calm me for biopsy it is a drug for physcosis(sorry not sure of spelling). I think most people would have been uptight after having a BCC removed and recovered then told 6months later they had three other cancers in the body , don't you ? Good luck with sorting things out.
