Well this is new
A cold in the lung? Well I've not heard that one either, does he mean you have flu?
I’ve not heard of a cold in the lung.ndoes he mean you’ve got flu?
I was changed from Azithromycin to Doxycycline in November because my rheumatoid arthritis drug had been changed to one where with Azithromycin, lung and heart conditions could be caused. I had 2 chest lung infection, almost certainly caused by nurses changing Azithromycin to doxycycline. Consequently I’ve been in hospital since the beginning of February with a chest infection which changed to pneumonia!
Oh no thats not good Helen, did the rheumy doc go through this with you. Has the change been beneficial to your rheumatoid, lets hope so its a big price to pay x
The rheumatoid dr didn’t even know of the potential problem. She looked at my current prescription and said there weren’t any contraindications, gave me leaflet and told the nurse would ring to talk it over with me. When I got home I read the info leaflet, noticed the menu of Azithromycin, and waited for the nurse to ring. She didn’t know about the clash with Azithromycin either. She spoke to my lung consultant, who then spoke to me. The options were not to take any antibiotic as a prophylactic, take doxy, which I’d tried before but it hadn’t worked, or had antibiotics through a nebuliser. I decided on the doxy. The most annoying thing is that the Hydroxychloroquine works, but I’m going to have to stop it because I can’t go through this again!
Oh no what a problem. I am on Methotrexate that is not working too well at the moment but dont want to go on biologics so do sympathise x
i hope you are being well looked after and that the infection will soon go away. xxx
I’m hopefully being discharged tomorrow
That's good news. Fingers crossed.🤞🤞🤞🧑🧑👧👴🧓xxx
Oh bless ya I'm just hoping I not got pbenmonia xx
Sounds like you have the flu, make sure that if its not easing after a week to chase up your doctor. Plenty of fluids and rest x
Haemophillis influenzae bugs are not very nice and can lead to pneumonia so lots of medication drinks and rest hope you feel better soon
I’ve recently grown this bug and it’s developed to pneumonia which is just awful. I’m currently on co-trimoxazole which has worked really well and start IV antibiotics on 16th April. Hope you feel better soon xx
to fully clear the infection and I’ve also relapsed several times after courses of oral antibiotics so this is to ensure that it’s fully gone (hopefully)!
Not heard that turn of phrase before. Hope you are feeling better soon x
Sounds like haemophilus. Whatever it is I hope the Doxy will soon see it off. xxx
It's using techniques to get the mucous out of lungs, usually twice a day - more if needed.its the backbone of self care with bronchiectasis. If u don't,itll keep getting reinfected, making u ill & causing more damage to lungs.Take a look on aluk website.there r videos too. I use disposable plastic cups so u know how much, colour & consistency of what Yr getting up, & dispose of in nappy bags..i do it til there's no more.but it does build back up so need to make time for lung clearance.
If u haven't seen a lung physio,do ask for referral - they'll help perfect Yr technique
