well, you could have knocked me down with a feather on Monday .....I had a phone call at lunchtime which I nearly didn't answer as didn't recognise the caller's number.....it was the appointments clerk at the hospital with an appointment for me at the Respiratory Clinic on twenty fourth of April. I'I've Been waiting 18 months now, they lost my doctor's original referral letter in 2022. She had to send in another one in August 2023. At least I got an apology for the delay, AND I will be seeing a different consultant this time. I Put the phone down and just burst into tears of relief.
Hopefully I will actually get progress with this new consultant, I didn't get on with the last one at all!
Currently fighting with tree pollen kicking my lungs around like a football.

Hi there good luck on the 24th. My freinds husband has had his appointment for knee cancelled several times but was seen a few weeks ago . the cancer referrals seem to be back to normal but other appointments are taking longer.I've been told I have to come to the clinic again but don't know when but presume it will be after my Pet scan next Thursday. Sometimes things seem to take for ever but I cannot grumble my appointments have been done quick but have not been to the local hospital clinic since 2009 if I had been checked regularly maybe this problem might not of occurred. I did not even chose this hospital my GP did. Best Wishes
it seems pot luck with hospitals and appointments doesn't it. I should nevnever have allowed them to discharge me from the clinic in March 2022......lesson learned!
thank you for reply I have another problem when I go they loose my records on the computer, good job I have a good memory . Right now I am in a state with all the stress but hopefully next week from 8th onwards I will have more details of future.
That is so disgusting, they really have no idea what some people have to live with do they, we have a particular nurse at our surgery I always pray I’m not going to get, so rude, definitely shouldn’t be in the job she has, hopefully you will have a completely different experience this time, fingers crossed for you & look forward to hearing back from you after your 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻💐🌺🌷 xx
thanks Brian. The waiting has done nothing for tthe anxiety levels. She is very good, according to a friend with ILD who us under her. Takes her time and very thorough.
thanks Nula2. Just counting down the days now. GP currently bunged me on a long course of fluconazole meds just in case, as pretty constant oral thrush for last few months.
thank you! The relief is massive. She has a very good reputation, not a bronch specialist as such, but they do have one up in north wales now I believe so they might put their heads together to discuss me.
Hi BronchyBronwen, oh yes...I have a very long list of somewhat bizarre symptoms and PF and SPO2 charts as well. I have a friend with ILD under this lady consultant who said she is very thorough and takes time to listen - total contrast to the male consultant I was under last time!
