Sorry that I do not have any photos to share, well not just yet, just to say the swallows are back in our barn. Yes, it is only mid March which is certainly much earlier than last year. Perhaps we`ll have 2 or 3 broods this year. I`ll keep you posted and get my camera out of hibernation. Take care everybody, spring is just around the corner.

I usually look at my emails and then HU to see if there is anything of interest before getting down to work. Although we are bothe retired, we do still work. It keeps our brains active and gives us some spending money to get away on holiday. Even on holiday I am quite happy to spend an hour with the computer in a morning and the afternoon walking complete with camera. Mornings for my wife include her breathing exercises as well as first walk with the dogs. Our caravan is perfect for holidays and when at home perfect for the physio when he comes here. Mondays and Fridays, 9.00 am for 15 minutes loosening muck in lungs. We might complain about paying for complementary health insurance but do get our money`s worth. I`ll be back with photos once the family are settled in their nest. Too much flying in and out to redecorate before new arrivals.
I am a firm believer in working as long as possible or having something to focus on even if it doesn't bring in any income. My grandma always said "You die feet first" meaning when you completely stop that's the beginning of the end. So I think it's great what you are doing. I don't think I will ever reach old age but I will keep staggering on. 😅 Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the swallows. xx 😊👋
How lovely for you to see these beautiful little birds. When I lived in Germany I had swifts build their nests outside my window just under the eaves of my apartment, a bit messy on my veranda but worth the daily clean up, so lovely to watch them grow. We also had a stork that built its nest in a little field opposite. Sadly here in Manchester we dont see any of these seasonal visitors, alot of our birds have gone, even the starlings that used to line up on the top of everybody's house have gone. I am hoping the blackbirds dont give up on us, I am looking forward to their return, its so quiet in the garden now x
If it`s birds you want, this photo was taken by my granddaughter in the wildlife clinic where she is working. No, it is not a big budgie but a Griffon Vulture with a broken wing.
Wow that must have been something to see, how exciting for your granddaughter to be working there. Your comment made me laugh dont think you could mistake this for a big budgie lol x
