Terrible ongoing cough

So like two weeks ago i sprained my knee and got into hospital, when i went out i started coughing like crazy. Firstable i had some fever, now don't. But still coughing myself out. And a lot of lung slime comes out. I was on antibiotics but nothing. My lungs make bad sound while im breathing. Can't lay down - i will cough till i throw up

Hi AGC, I know exactly what you mean, I am on my 3rd lot of antibiotics and still not improving, Like you say its the coughing that wears you out, plus lack of sleep..

I have been to hospital and they say it is just a bad virus going around. Got to just be patient.

When I have a coughing session, I find holding a battery operated hand fan near my mouth and nose tends to calm me down.

That sort of coughing is horrible. I found the only thing that helped was sips of water. Hope you're soon feeling better.

Perhaps try to sleep more upright.theres lot of people with lingering coughs following on from viral infection. X
